Your Questions Answered
From what to know before you enquire, to your flowers, booking and planning, and what happens on the wedding day, I’ve answered some of the questions I’m asked most often below.
Before you enquire
-
Not at all! You really don't need to know your ranunculus from your delphiniums. That's my job!
You might have a colour palette, a few images you've fallen in love with, or simply a feeling you'd like your flowers to create. We can start wherever you are and work together to turn those ideas into flowers that feel completely right for you and your wedding.
-
I recommend getting in touch as soon as you have your venue and wedding date confirmed. Popular dates can book well in advance, particularly during the main wedding season.
That said, it's always worth asking about your date even if your wedding is coming up sooner, I sometimes have availability for last-minute weddings too.
-
Yes. My minimum spend for peak wedding dates is currently £2,500.
This allows me to give each wedding the time, care and attention it deserves, from sourcing the flowers to creating the designs and setting everything up on the day.
If you're planning a smaller wedding or an intimate celebration, please do still get in touch. Availability and minimum spends can vary depending on the date and requirements.
-
Every wedding is different, so there's no one-size-fits-all answer. Your flower budget will depend on things like the number of personal flowers, your ceremony arrangements, reception flowers, installations and how flower-filled you'd like your day to feel.
Most of my couples spend somewhere around £2,500–£5,000, and some up to £10,000 although larger weddings and more extensive floral installations can be considerably more.
I'm always happy to work with you to make the most of the budget you have.
-
I create wedding flowers across Surrey and Hampshire, as well as selected surrounding areas.
If you're a little further afield and love my style, please do ask, depending on the date and location, I may be able to travel.
Your flowers
-
Once you've made an enquiry, we'll start with a conversation about your wedding, your venue and the kind of atmosphere you'd like to create.
I'll then put together a bespoke floral proposal based on what we've discussed. Once you're happy and your booking is confirmed, we'll continue developing the details together as your wedding plans evolve.
As your wedding gets closer, I'll finalise the flower choices, quantities and timings, before bringing everything together on the day itself.
-
That's absolutely fine!
You don't need to arrive with a complete floral brief. Tell me what you do know: perhaps your favourite colours, your venue, the season you're getting married in, or simply the feeling you're hoping to create.
Show me the things you're drawn to and I'll help translate those ideas into flowers.
-
Absolutely. Pinterest, Instagram and those screenshots you've been saving are all very welcome!
Inspiration images are really useful for helping me understand what you're drawn to. I won't simply copy someone else's wedding, though. I'll use your inspiration as a starting point and create something that feels personal to you, your venue and your season.
-
Where possible, yes. I love working with what's naturally looking its best at the time of your wedding, and British-grown flowers can bring a wonderful sense of seasonality and place to your designs.
I also source flowers from trusted suppliers when the British growing season doesn't provide what we need. The priority is always creating beautiful, abundant flowers that feel right for your wedding while making thoughtful choices about where they come from.
-
Don't panic! There is nearly always a beautiful alternative.
Rather than promising a particular flower months in advance, I prefer to work with the very best flowers available when your wedding arrives. If something you've fallen in love with isn't available, I'll look for something with a similar colour, shape, texture or feeling.
Sometimes the alternative turns out to be even more beautiful.
-
I source flowers from a combination of trusted flower wholesalers, specialist growers and British flower growers, depending on the season and what each wedding needs.
I love discovering beautiful, unusual varieties and using flowers when they're naturally at their best, rather than creating the same recipe for every wedding.
-
Sustainability is something I consider throughout the whole process, rather than treating it as an add-on.
I use British-grown flowers where possible, choose seasonal flowers, reuse and repurpose arrangements where practical, and avoid unnecessary single-use materials.
I also don't use floral foam. Instead, I use more sustainable mechanics and techniques wherever I can.
There isn't really such a thing as a completely impact-free wedding, but I believe lots of thoughtful choices can make a meaningful difference without compromising on beautiful flowers.
-
No. I don't use traditional floral foam in my wedding work.
Instead, I use alternative techniques and mechanics that allow me to create the abundant, natural-looking designs I love while avoiding this single-use material.
Booking & planning
-
The first step is simply to get in touch through my enquiry form.
I'll check your date and, if I'm available, we'll arrange a chat so I can hear all about your wedding and what you're looking for.
I'll then create a bespoke proposal for you. Your date is secured once your booking payment has been received.
-
Once you've decided you'd like me to create your wedding flowers, I'll send over your booking paperwork along with the payment details.
A booking payment secures your date, with the remaining balance due ahead of your wedding. I'll make sure all the payment dates and amounts are clearly set out for you, so there are no surprises.
-
Of course. Wedding plans have a habit of changing!
Your floral proposal isn't set in stone the moment you book. As your plans develop, we can make adjustments to quantities, designs and details where possible.
There will be a point when I need to place the final flower order, so I'll let you know when we reach that stage and when your final choices need to be confirmed.
-
As your wedding approaches, we'll start to firm up all the details, including your final flower choices, quantities, timings and any practical arrangements with your venue.
I'll take care of the flower sourcing and preparation, so you don't need to worry about what's happening behind the scenes.
My aim is that by the time your wedding day arrives, you can simply enjoy it.
The wedding day
-
Yes. I deliver your wedding flowers and take care of the set-up at your venue.
I'll arrive with everything prepared, arrange the flowers in their final positions and make sure everything is looking beautiful before I leave.
Where possible, I'll also liaise with your venue and other suppliers to make sure the flowers fit seamlessly into the day's plans.
-
Yes, where timings and the design make this practical.
I love creating flowers that can work hard for your wedding, so we can often plan for ceremony arrangements to be moved and enjoyed elsewhere afterwards.
We'll discuss this during the planning process so that everything is properly factored into the day's timings.
-
They're yours!
I always encourage couples to enjoy their flowers for as long as possible after the wedding. Depending on your plans, either I or a member of my team will return the following day, or we'll arrange a midnight clear if that's been agreed with your venue.
We'll gather together the flowers that are still looking beautiful, make them into bunches and wrap them so you, your family and friends can take them home and enjoy them for a little longer.
Of course, flowers are living things and they won't all look exactly as they did when we first delivered them, particularly after a long wedding day or in very warm weather. We can't guarantee that every stem will still be perfect, but we'll carefully select the flowers that still have some life in them and give them a second chance to be enjoyed.
It's a lovely way to keep a little piece of your wedding day going for a few more days.
-
Absolutely. My flowers are all about abundance, movement and that slightly wild, romantic feeling.
I love flowers that look as though they've just been gathered from a beautiful English garden blousy blooms, beautiful movement, interesting textures and lots of little details to discover.
I don't want your flowers to feel stiff or overly perfect. I want them to feel full of life.
-
That's the whole point.
Your flowers shouldn't feel like they've been lifted from a catalogue. I'll get to know what you love, what you're drawn to and what matters to you about your wedding.
Your venue, the season, your colour palette, your personality and all those little details you've been planning will influence the flowers.
The finished designs should feel unmistakably yours.
-
That's probably more common than you think!
You don't need to arrive with a Pinterest board, a flower list or even a colour palette. We can start with your venue, the season, the things you love and the feeling you want your wedding to have.
I'll guide you through the rest. That's what I'm here for.
